Hello families and friends my name is Ange Sikyr, and I have been the Director of Territory Kids Early Learning – Gunn since we opened in May 2022.
I am a dedicated early childhood professional and have extensive knowledge and experience in the sector, complimented with four accredited qualifications. Additionally, I hold a current police clearance, a valid Working with Children Check, and a First Aid certification.
My commitment to early childhood education began at the age of 15 when I entered the sector, fully aware that this was the field in which I wished to build my career.
I have lived in the Territory all my life and have three adult children, two amazing grandchildren, and a dog named Sarge.
Throughout my time in early childhood, I have gained extensive experience in various leadership roles. I was employed by Goodstart Early Learning Ltd for many years, where I progressed through multiple positions, including Assistant, Room Leader, Director, and Assistant Territory Manager. In 2015, I transitioned to the Department of Education, assuming the role of an Authorised Officer within the regulatory authority. During my six-year tenure in this role, I was responsible for overseeing and regulating all service types across the Northern Territory, including those in remote locations.
As an Authorised Officer, I was assigned to support the establishment of Territory Kids Early Learning, during which time I had the opportunity to meet the Approved Provider, David. David’s vision and dedication to delivering a high-quality service aligned with my own professional values.
Our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being for every child is always my highest priority. It is a privilege to be a part of each child’s learning journey and watch them grow into capable competent learners.
